Crowns, also known as caps are a good solution when the surface of teeth gets damaged. Crowns are usually made up of porcelain. When tooth surface gets badly fractured, it's restored with a dental filling which are cemented above the old tooth. This restoration is referred to us as Crown.

Chips, cracks, decay are few forms of damage. While filling may again improve these damages, crowns rebuild those teeth to its original shape and size. Crowns offer both oral health and cosmetic benefits and place a secure, and a natural appearance.

Dental crowns are of different typed based on their composition of materials

  • Gold crowns
  • Porcelain or ceramic crowns
  • Porcelain-over-metal-crowns
  • Stainless steel crowns
  • All-resin

The perception of a ceramic crown over a damaged tooth or restoring a dental implant is simple enough, it also helps to prevent from future tooth fractures, but the variables involved in the process will be varied for every patient depending on the number of dental crowns, material used.
